Biodiversity Offsets Scheme local government eLearning sponsorship expression of interest

Local government training and sponsorship

The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water’s Biodiversity Offsets and Planning Branch is currently sponsoring council staff to complete training in the Biodiversity Offsets Scheme. The training includes 12 eLearning modules completed online at a self-directed pace (total 6 hours). The eLearning will help council staff to understand the fundamental concepts of the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016, the Biodiversity Offsets Scheme, the Biodiversity Assessment Method, assessor accreditation and the councils’ role in the scheme. Competency is not assessed, however trainees will receive a certificate of completion. For a detailed course outline, go to WSP Training.

Use this form to apply for sponsorship to receive the eLearning for free. Accredited assessors are not eligible to apply. Expressions of interest will be prioritised based on:

  • the target audience (staff who review and determine applications for development and/or vegetation clearing)
  • timing and numbers of expressions of interest relative to the funding available.
